Nancy is a cattle dog who came to us about three years ago. We were concerned because she had weakness in her back legs, trouble with her vision, and a high-stepping walk. Turns out she has hydrocephalus, but it’s been pretty easily managed with help from over-the-counter medicine.
Nancy would just love to sit on someone’s lap and be cuddled all the time. She has bursts of playtime, but she really likes to chill. Nancy loves other dogs but can get really rowdy when she plays. She also can be a handful around small kids because she gets overeager for attention. People love Nancy when they meet her at events, but she just can’t seem to find her happily ever after.
Nancy was adopted and was in a home for over 9 months before she was returned. While we work very hard on finding each pup their perfect fit, there are various reasons that dogs do get returned, usually no fault of their own. We need to always have a space for when this happens. A place that allows them to continue living a good life even if their forever home didn’t turn out to be that.
